If there's a biding war let TOR take him. I wouldn't trade Read for him. A 2nd and a prospect not named Laughton. |

Bernier wants to be a starting goalie. Has Reimer not grabbed that from his play this year? |

Ya, not that I don't think Bernier is good, or has the potential to be, but I'd think at this point Reimer has a bigger resume than Bernier. Kind of a lateral step for the Leafs. |

So tough because Bernier has a lot of potential but has hardly got any playing time with quick crushing it between the pipes. I'd say he has more potential then reimer though! |

Agreed. Cost would be way too much for something we don't need(already have)
Need to focus on the other issues. |

It would be nice to see these 2 guys push each other for the starting position. Nothing for tenders is carved in stone. Look at Fleury in Pitt. |

Mike Augello: Report: Leafs And Flyers Interested In Kings Bernier - mikeinbuffalo
I am going to call BS on this one...this directly contradicts the direction Nonis and Co. have stated they are going by acquiring a veteran back-up to insert into the Leafs crease. Slow days between SCF games...Reimer is just fine; find him a Vokoun-lite, or stick with Scrivens and do a 60/40 split and run with the hot hand. |

For sure. I thought the desire was to bring in an experienced backup to mentor Reimer. |

Reimer + Bernier > Reimer + Scrivens
- .HOHO.
Sure but at what cost? Do we overpay for bernier so that we have a 50/50 with 2 young inexperienced tenders? Do we do that and risk losing what Reimer built this year?
How do you go to Reimer and say you did great this year but we're taking time away to give to bernier? How do you keep bernier happy (he wants to be a starter).
Makes no sense for the leafs. |

It's being reported as a rumor when its not. Kipper speculates due to the la connection. |

Last year, the cost for Bernier at the draft was reported to be Scrivens and Frattin for Bernier, and the Leafs wouldn't go for it. This year, I can't imagine that price has changed and Frattin's value has only gone up. The Leafs would be dumb to do it this time. That kid has potential. |

Every goalie wants to be a starter, there just isnt a big market for teams who are looking for a number 1, blue jackets if bobs decides to blow off the nhl and go back to khl, potentially the flames, kipper may be retiring this year, plays 1 more year at best. |

I would imagine the value could stay around the same because being restricted, any team can try and get him and potentially handcuff the kings.

This is PRO sports, in the largest market in the world for hockey. There is no feelings. If Nonis thinks he can make the team better. He will pull the trigger. |

The value would have to be 2 2nds is what i am thinking or a 2nd and a 3rd. An offer sheet of around 4 mil per will only result in the kings getting a 2nd round pick back (I think). They would never match that offer sheet because then they would be stuck with him for a year at least. Leafs have no reason to give up Frattin. Id do carter ashton and a 3rd. |

I wouldn't mind that deal, IF the leafs can get komarov to stay. If komarov jumps ship and heads back to khl then we need to keep a guy like ashton who plays the same role as komarov and can fill that void. |
